Monique Richard has just completed service as the Chair of a rapidly growing Dietetic Practice Group, the approximately-4,000-member Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine. She has served in multiple capacities with dietetics organizations: for 3 years as Student Editor of Vegetarian Nutrition Update, the publication of the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group; for 4 years as Student Outreach Group Chair for the American Overseas Dietetic Association; and continuing as a member of the Member Value Committee for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has previously been honored as Outstanding Dietetic Student of the Year both by American Overseas Dietetic Association and Tri-Cities Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Monique works as an Integrative Clinical Dietitian for State of Franklin Healthcare Associates and for Mountain Region Family Medicine in Tennessee, and is a former Adjunct Professor in Nutrition at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City. She brings an international public health perspective to her work from having participated in teaching, field work or academic presentations in Haiti, Egypt, China, India and Israel. She has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Plant-based Prevention Of Disease, Inc. since that board’s founding.
