OPTIONAL RECREATION / EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES IN NEARBY SANTA FE AFTER CONFERENCE END:  Our friends in Santa Fe have been organizing optional separate enjoyable activities in Santa Fe from late Saturday afternoon through Sunday….  a chance to add some vacation/tourism time to your conference time.  Tentative schedule is below.  We are setting aside a small number of rooms at the Lodge of Santa Fe for P-POD attendees who might wish to stay over Saturday night in Santa Fe while partaking of this weekend recreation.  Their cost should be $89 + tax, booked and paid through them, not P-POD.

•Sat. late afternoon to 7 pm:  unstructured time for museum visits, strolling etc.
•Sat. 7 pm onward:  dinner at Thai Vegan restaurant (quoted at $20/person including tax and tip)
•Sat., after dinner:  dancing to recorded music, available as late as 11 pm in Thai Vegan banquet room
•Sun. 8 am:  moderate-intensity hike in hills overlooking Santa Fe
•Sun. 10 am:  vegan breakfast at Annapurna
•Sun. 12 noon:  more nearby hiking (specifics to be determined)
•Sun. 3 pm – 5 pm:  invitation to join in a 15-year Santa Fe institution, Embody Dance….  freestyle dancing to diverse recorded music in a welcoming alcohol-free tobacco-free drug-free fragrance-free environment without street shoes.  Its nonprofit, community-owned and community-operated organization is described at http://embodydancesantafe.org.

WALKABLE HOUSING:  You may arrange your own off-campus housing, but you will have an option through P-POD registration to book walking-distance campus apartments.  You’d have a private locking bedroom in an apartment shared with 1 or 2 others.  You’d choose them, else we’d randomly assign persons who are gender-appropriate as defined by you.  Each apartment has a kitchen, bathroom and living room.  [Beds are the usual size for college campuses, best described as “twin” as opposed to king or queen.]

Through our online registration you may book campus apartments for Thursday + Friday nights, and may choose there to add either Wednesday or Saturday night as well.  Any other date possibilities would need to be arranged separately with us, through our Contact page or via “comments” you make as you are completing your registration.

The apartments are the Redondo Village Apartments, https://housing.unm.edu/residence-halls/redondo-village.html.

SANTA FE RECREATION-WEEKEND HOUSING for those interested, is dealt with in the FUN ACTIVITIES tab.

COSTS OF WALKABLE CAMPUS HOUSING are shown on the Costs 2017 page.

SOME OFF-CAMPUS HOTEL OPTIONS are described on the Travel 2017 page.

MEALS:  After the optional first-meal-upon-arrival, they are included with registration.  All will be vegan natural foods without wheat added, and breakfasts will consist of simple basic foods.  Following the Friday dinner, on-site reception and party activities will continue throughout the evening.  The Saturday Farewell Luncheon will be served from 12:35 to 2:20 pm. A registrant may add $18 to registration rates, for an optional Thursday arrival-meal:  either 12:10 – 1:25 pm lunch for “full” registrants and for “short” registrants skipping Saturday….  or else 5:35 – 6:45 pm dinner for “short” registrants skipping Thursday afternoon.

We are arranging for Friday’s luncheon to be prepared completely from traditional plant-based foods as were used by the various indigenous peoples of what is now the southwest U.S.

REGISTERING MORE THAN ONE PERSON:  You may register several people together through our online registration program.  Certainly, as many as 4 have been registered together successfully.

PAYMENTPayment for apartments, if booked, is not due until Apr. 26, but payment for other costs is due upon registrationPayment via check may be mailed when online registration is done, else payment (but with 3% added fee) via credit card or a Paypal account may be made during online registration.  From Apr. 26 onward, housing costs should be paid immediately along with everything else.
